APatchouli and AYuugi vs DPatchouli and DYuugi

Anonymous
To open the match, AYuugi kills DPatch with Head Smash.
APatch and DYuugi have a speed tie, whoever wins will kill the other, but it doesn’t matter because AYuugi is still alive. DYuugi can’t kill her even after Head Smash recoil (especially since DPatch has, like, no HP).
Two wallbreakers against two walls is not a good matchup.
TToyohime and SYorihime vs TYukari and ARan

Anonymous
Turn order is Yorihime > Ran > Yukari > Toyohime.
Yorihime does whatever (Flamethrower, Fire Blast) to Ran for like 75%.
Ran kills Yorihime with Binding Voice.
Yukari hits Toyohime with whatever.
At this point Toyo is pretty much screwed. She can kill Yukari with Earth Power, or use Surf to finish off Ran and hurt Yukari, but either way one of them will be alive to kill her next turn.
Because Toyo is so fat, though, Yukari would have to use White Herb Psycho Boost to two-shot her, or Ran would have to land a Luster Purge, so they’d need to be prepared for that.
All the peaches in the world won’t save a fatty from a double battle.
Startropics or Ducktales?

Anonymous
Hmm. Tough question.
Startropics is a solid game with a lot of content, definitely one of the best NES games. Also, while most games of the time had you saving princesses, Startropics had you saving space princesses. Truly ahead of its time.
But for a game that came from such an oversaturated genre, Ducktales really stands out on top. Nice sprites and use of color, excellent music, and somewhat unique mechanics that made Scrooge really fun to play.
In addition, one of the selling points of Ducktales is that the scoring system is actually relevant. It takes knowledge and planning to take an optimal route through each level and collect all the diamonds, there are a pretty significant number of little secrets, and you get slightly different endings depending on the amount of loot you got. And although you can get diamonds from killing enemies, it’s not efficient or possible to be done infinitely. This adds up to give the game pretty good replay value.
Despite being a smaller game, I think Ducktales wins on account of its impeccable craftsmanship.
Purplequest is now a thing again.

Nope, it won’t be a thing again until all commissions are done.
Poor Kanako (and were you hoping we'd forget about Ran?)

Anonymous
To be honest I think it’d be a blast to write Kanako, but she is only purple in fanart and her Hisoutensoku sprite.
Also, after further research natural indigo is actually much closer to blue than purple, and scientists peg it as stopping just short of the purple wavelength section of the color spectrum. Plus, it makes more sense since Ran wears blue. Thus, you need a BLUE COMMAND INTERPRETER to play as Ran. Suckers!!
Hmm, some random pic browsing got me wondering- is Yoshika going to be controllable? Though in the games she has dark gray, she's sometimes drawn with purple hair (high ratio than Remilia at least). Then again, Shinki's also sometimes seen with light purple hair rather than her typical white...

Hey remember when Purplequest was a thing? Those were good times.
I go by primarily by ingame sprites and official art. I’m not sure whether I would file Yoshika under Silver or Blue, but she’s not Purple.
To put this matter to rest, I will release a COMPLETE LIST of everyone who would be filed under Purple, since there is only one person that hasn’t been named yet who might count as a surprise.
Reimu (deprecated - see PURPLE COMMAND INTERPRETER documentation for info)
Meira
(SoEW Stage 4 Midboss)
Five Magic Stones
Rikako
Sara
Thelma
Patchouli
Letty
Yukari
Reisen
Iku
Satori
Ichirin
Reisen II
Yorihime
Akyu
MYSTERIOUS CHARACTER???
Note that not all these characters will be plot relevant, and that you won’t necessarily be able to be all of them for one reason or another. But that is everyone who counts as Purple.
The third and final of TAC’s commissions, Byakuren doing the classic Marilyn Monroe pose, although I felt it was more her personality to not be too thrilled about the situation.
Skydiving Nitori for TAC.
Seems redundant in Gensokyo, but maybe not everyone can fly that high?
ARin and AUtsuho vs AKomachi and AShikieki

Anonymous
Rin is shit out of luck because Komachi kills her instantly with Aqua Jet. Utsuho and Eiki have a speed tie - at this point, Utsuho must win the tie and 1HKO Eiki with Fire Blast (84.9% chance) before Eiki does the same to her with Luster Purge (guaranteed 100%).
Komachi obviously cannot survive Fire Blast, is slower than Utsuho, and doesn’t 1HKO her with Aqua Jet, so if Utsuho beats Shikieiki then she’ll beat Komachi as well, if she doesn’t miss.
It’s in Komachi and Eiki’s favor, since Utsuho needs to gamble on a 120 power move twice, and a small chance of not getting the 1HKO on Eiki. Otherwise it’s just a coinflip due to speed tie.
Would you look for treasure on the moon?

Of course. The music up there is top notch.
(Oh, Capcom…back then you managed to make even licensed games good. What happened?)
Would hell for you be being forced to play Windy X Windam?

Actually I just downloaded it and played for about a half hour so I guess it’s not that bad?
It’s just a really janky fighting game with bad controls
But it’s kawaii enough for me to not care, I mean shit check out this trap Cerebella
The spear girl is really broken though…
Dear Stuffman: The President has been kidnapped by Ninjas. Do you rescue him with martial arts, melee weapon-fighting, firearms, magic, or psyhcic powers? CHOOSE WISELY, FOR YOUR RIVAL SHALL CHOOSE ONE TOO.

Fighting ninjas with anything other than martial arts is just wrong. If it was good enough for the bad dudes it’s good enough for me.
I guess you can use a sword too, but that’s not really my thing.
Here’s the first entry I’ve done in a ongoing commission project for…actually I don’t really know what to call this user, their e-mail address isn’t something I recognize from tumblr. Anyway, this person is doing a VN and I’ve worked out a deal to do the character linework for it, which they’ll then draw the various facial poses onto and add the color afterward.
The person in question is actually a competent artist themselves, and gave me a lovely reference to work with; you can see their original picture here.
The character’s name is Helimony; she’s got a very Madoka/Umineko vibe to her. I like this character design a lot, so I’m looking forward to doing more in the future.
Hard-tier commission from Birdbrainhq.
He specifically requested tailfeathers and chocolate Okuu. The man knows what he likes.
I was expecting this to be really easy to draw, but it actually took quite a while…I need to get better at composition so it doesn’t take me forever to set up a scene with a bunch of characters in it.
